The Chief Public Prosecutor for Terrorism Crimes stated that the High Criminal Court yesterday held the first hearing for defendants accused of promoting and glorifying Iran’s hostile and terrorist acts against the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Public Prosecution received a report from the Cyber Crimes Department indicating that, amid attacks on Bahraini territory by the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, several social media accounts were found sharing videos of these attacks. The footage targeted restricted military facilities, as well as some public and private properties, and showed the defendants expressing delight at the attacks and encouraging their continuation. Four cases were filed based on these incidents. Following the identification of the suspects, they were arrested under a Public Prosecution order, placed in pretrial detention, and referred for urgent trial before the competent court.

At the start of the first hearing, the Public Prosecution emphasized that, while state agencies were defending the nation, the defendants openly supported and encouraged these hostile acts, demonstrating clear disloyalty and undermining the country’s sovereignty and standing. The prosecution affirmed its commitment to holding all offenders accountable under the law.

The court has adjourned the hearings to Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
