The official spokesperson for the Kuwait National Guard, Brigadier General Dr. Jad‘an Fadhel Jad‘an, announced early today that the National Guard’s “Duty Force” successfully shot down six drones over key locations in northern and southern Kuwait.

In a press statement, the spokesperson emphasized that the operation is part of ongoing efforts to enhance national security, protect vital sites, and counter any potential threats.

The announcement comes amid heightened regional tensions, as the United Arab Emirates’ air defenses are currently responding to missile and drone threats originating from Iran. The UAE Ministry of Defense confirmed that sounds heard across various areas of the country are due to interceptions by air defense systems targeting ballistic missiles and fighter jets engaging drones and loitering munitions.

Authorities urged citizens and residents to strictly follow safety and security instructions issued by the relevant agencies. The National Guard, in coordination with the army, police, and civil defense, remains on high alert and ready to respond decisively to any threats, safeguarding Kuwait’s sovereignty, security, stability, and national interests.
