Bapco Energies B.S.C. (c), the integrated group leading Bahrain’s energy sector transformation, has declared a state of force majeure on operations affected by ongoing regional tensions. The move comes in response to recent Iranian attacks in the region, including a direct strike on one of the refining units at Bapco’s refinery.
The company emphasized that all local market needs remain fully secured through pre-planned measures, ensuring uninterrupted supply and continued fulfillment of domestic demand.

Force majeure, French for “superior force,” is a contractual clause that relieves parties from liability or obligations when extraordinary, unforeseeable events, such as war, riots, pandemics, or natural disasters, prevent fulfillment of contract terms, allowing delays or temporary suspension of obligations.
