His Excellency Alastair Long, the UK Ambassador to Bahrain, has issued guidance to British citizens residing in the Kingdom amid ongoing regional security developments. He warned that the situation may persist for some time.
Options
In a statement published on the British Embassy’s website, H.E. Ambassador Long outlined two primary options for British nationals.
The first is to remain in Bahrain and follow the instructions of local authorities, commending their efforts to safeguard residents and maintain the security of civilian infrastructure.
The second option is to leave the Kingdom via the King Fahd Causeway into Saudi Arabia, which remains open to British visitors.
Travel
The Ambassador advised citizens to consult with their travel companies or airlines regarding available travel arrangements, adding that the embassy is actively coordinating with carriers to support departures.
He also noted that British nationals who remain uncertain about their options can contact the British Embassy directly for guidance, with contact details provided on the embassy website.
