Drug smuggling attempt foiled
A foreign passenger was arrested at Bahrain International Airport in possession of 281 grammes of marijuana, the Director of Airport Customs said.
The customs' staff had suspicions about the passenger and asked to check his luggage. He found a package covered with a piece of cloth and wrapped in adhesive tape containing a pair of slippers that had a substance believed to be marijuana.
The suspect was taken to the Anti-narcotic Directorate for legal procedures prior to referring the case to the Public Prosecution.
