The Kerala Catholic Association (KCA) has announced the launch of the “Grandmaster India Quiz,” a premier intellectual event dedicated to celebrating India’s history, culture, and global contributions.

Scheduled for Friday, 17 April 2026, at 4:00 PM, the quiz aims to strengthen the deep-rooted cultural ties between India and Bahrain while fostering a spirit of learning among the diaspora.

The competition is structured into two categories: Grandmaster Juniors (under 18) and Grandmaster Seniors (above 18), with each team consisting of three members.

While the quiz focuses primarily on India’s governance, science, and sports, 10% of the questions will specifically highlight Bahrain, reflecting the shared friendship between the two nations. Adding significant prestige to the event, Dr. Raju Narayanaswamy IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government of Kerala and a renowned figure in the Indian quizzing circuit, will serve as the Chief Quiz Master.

Known for his intellectual depth and engaging style, Dr. Narayanaswamy will be joined by Aruldas Thomas, a prominent coordinator of knowledge-based events in Bahrain. The competition will kick off with a 30-question written preliminary round, leading to a grand stage final for the top six teams in each category.

Attractive cash prizes are up for grabs, with winners receiving USD 500, followed by USD 300 and USD 200 for the second and third positions, respectively.

KCA President James John emphasized that this initiative is part of the association’s mission to nurture talent and promote cultural harmony.
