New Left-Turn Lanes Open to Improve Traffic Flow in Muharraq

The Ministry of Works has announced the completion of the development project at the intersection of Khalifa Al-Kabeer Street and Abdulrahman Al-Fadel Street in Muharraq Governorate. The project is part of ongoing efforts to enhance Bahrain’s road network, improve traffic safety, and increase mobility efficiency in key areas.

The ministry stated that the project included the addition of a new left-turn lane on Khalifa Al-Kabeer Street in both directions leading to Abdulrahman Al-Fadel Street and Road 1655, creating two separate lanes. This improvement aims to streamline traffic flow and raise overall road safety.

The project also involved constructing underground channels for future utility use, upgrading street lighting, installing road signs and guidance boards, and introducing new traffic signals, including suspended signals along Khalifa Al-Kabeer Street in both directions.

The Ministry of Works emphasized that the project is part of a broader series of initiatives to strengthen Bahrain’s traffic infrastructure. It was carried out according to a set timeline and adheres to the highest technical and engineering standards to ensure road sustainability and deliver tangible benefits to citizens and residents.
