Arab Leaders Discuss AI and Public Sector Transformation in Dubai

Shaikh Duaij bin Salman bin Duaij Al Khalifa, President of the Civil Service Bureau, highlighted the growing importance of regional cooperation in shaping the future of government administration during his participation in the Arab Public Administration Forum, held alongside the World Government Summit in Dubai.

The forum brought together ministers, senior officials, and heads of civil service and public administration bodies from across the Arab world. Organised by the Arab Administrative Development Organisation in partnership with the Government of the United Arab Emirates, the meeting focused on strengthening collaboration and sharing practical experiences to raise the standard of public services.

Shaikh Duaij said the forum provides a vital platform for forward-looking dialogue on public sector reform, allowing Arab governments to exchange insights on strategic priorities and address common challenges facing public administration amid rapid global and technological changes.

Discussions during the forum centred on improving government efficiency and performance, with particular emphasis on the impact of artificial intelligence on public administration. Participants examined how emerging technologies are reshaping public policy, governance frameworks, workforce development, and the delivery of government services to better meet citizens’ expectations.

The forum also explored modern and flexible government operating models that support innovation, digital transformation, and data-driven decision-making, reinforcing institutional governance and long-term administrative sustainability.

Recognised as a leading regional platform on public administration, the forum continues to play a key role in anticipating future government trends and promoting best practices among senior officials and experts.

On the sidelines of the event, participants in the “Future Government Leaders” programme from various countries were honoured. Those recognised included Eman Jawad Al Asfour, Assistant Undersecretary for Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, and Shaikh Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Director of the International Relations Directorate at the same ministry.
