375 Public Requests Put District Four Under Municipal Spotlight in 2025
The Capital Municipal Council reviewed a detailed breakdown of complaints, proposals and service requests submitted for the Fourth District during its tenth session, after receiving a comprehensive presentation from the Media Unit of the Capital Governorate. The figures, covering the full year 2025, revealed the scale of service pressure facing the district and formed the core focus of the council’s discussion.
According to the presentation, a total of 375 requests were recorded. The largest share came directly from citizens and residents, who submitted 184 complaints and proposals, reflecting daily service challenges across residential and commercial areas. Members of the Municipal Council submitted 107 requests, highlighting ongoing follow up on constituency concerns, while 46 requests were registered through the national complaints and suggestions system Tawasul. Field visits accounted for 31 cases, alongside four submissions from Capital Governorate MPs and three from civil society organisations.
Among the complaints reviewed was the spread of unauthorised advertising posters on the walls of buildings and cemeteries. The council was informed that municipal teams intervened to remove the posters, stressing the importance of protecting public spaces and maintaining the visual character of neighbourhoods.
Council members noted that the figures point to sustained service demand rather than isolated incidents. The discussion emphasised that documenting complaints is only the first step, and that structured follow up and long term planning remain essential to reducing repeated issues and improving service stability across District Four.
