168 Flats as Housing Bank Unveils Seef Projects

The Capital Municipal Council reviewed housing and community development plans presented by representatives of the Housing Bank during its tenth session, as discussions focused on current and upcoming projects aimed at strengthening residential services and long term sustainability.

Representatives of the Housing Bank briefed the council on a package of housing and community service projects scheduled for approval, covering both residential development and supporting facilities. The presentation highlighted the growing importance of community centres in meeting the social and service needs of modern housing cities, alongside the inclusion of an investment wing designed to ensure the financial sustainability of such projects.

Among the key projects presented was Seef Greens, a residential development in the Seef district comprising four buildings with a total of 168 flats, in addition to commercial outlets. Officials also confirmed that another project in the Seef area is currently under consideration, with the expected start of implementation set for March. A study is also underway to assess the feasibility of constructing a bridge linking the Seef mall with the Seef Greens development.

The council was informed of ministerial directives to raise service standards in housing cities and keep pace with rising demand, with emphasis placed on coordination with the investment sector. The Seef Greens project was described as one of the largest ongoing developments, combining residential, commercial and administrative uses.
