Bahrain Calls for Joint Arab Action and Economic Integration at Arab Parliament
he Shura Council delegation participating in the Arab Parliament meetings said that the Kingdom of Bahrain continues its firm approach to strengthening regional and international security. Bahrain supports dialogue and understanding between countries and prefers peaceful solutions to resolve disputes and conflicts.
The delegation said this approach is based on the wise vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Bahrain’s policy respects international law and the sovereignty of states, helping to promote stability and reduce the impact of conflicts on people.
The Shura Council delegation highlighted the importance of Bahrain’s participation in the Board of Peace, saying it reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to international efforts aimed at achieving a fair and comprehensive peace. The delegation stressed support for political solutions that guarantee the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, help end humanitarian suffering, and restore a dignified life for the people of the Gaza Strip, in line with international legitimacy and security.
These remarks were made during the delegation’s participation in the second session of the second convening of the fourth legislative term of the Arab Parliament, held at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo. The delegation included Dr. Adel Abdulrahman Al-Maawda, member of the Arab Parliament and deputy chairman of the Shura Council’s Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee, and Dr. Ibtisam Mohammed Saleh Al-Dallal, member of the Shura Council’s Services Committee and the Arab Parliament’s Economic and Financial Affairs Committee.
During the session, Dr. Al-Maawda stressed the importance of parliamentary work in supporting government efforts to protect the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, especially in light of the difficult humanitarian conditions in Gaza and the severe shortage of basic living needs. He said joint Arab parliamentary action is a key pillar in strengthening Arab national security, defending just causes, and supporting diplomatic and peaceful paths to resolve conflicts while preserving the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Arab states.
He also called for unified Arab positions in regional and international parliamentary forums, and for stronger parliamentary efforts to defend Arab issues in line with the aspirations of Arab peoples for security, stability, and development.
For her part, Dr. Al-Dallal highlighted Bahrain’s important role in supporting Arab and Islamic causes and human rights issues. She stressed the need to end the humanitarian suffering in Gaza, noting that Bahrain’s participation in the Arab Parliament reflects its commitment to joint Arab action and to ensuring Arab issues are effectively represented in international forums concerned with peace and security.
She also pointed to the importance of strengthening Arab economic integration, supporting intra-Arab investment, and following up on financial and administrative matters related to the Arab Parliament. She said economic integration is a key factor in supporting comprehensive Arab national security and long-term stability. She added that Bahrain places special importance on economic and social legislation that supports growth, sustainable development, social justice, and improved living standards, through a balanced approach that considers both economic and humanitarian aspects.
The session also discussed reports from committees on legislative affairs and human rights, as well as social, cultural, women’s, and youth affairs, along with several organizational initiatives, reflecting the Arab Parliament’s comprehensive approach to addressing political, economic, and social challenges.
