Empowered Youth Driving Bahrain’s Future, Says Dr Al Fadhel

Dr Jihad Abdullah Al Fadhel, Second Deputy Chairperson of the Shura Council, said that the Kingdom of Bahrain has established an advanced and evolving model for empowering and engaging young people, making them active partners in the country’s development and democratic progress.

She said that during the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Bahraini youth have become well-prepared, capable and qualified to contribute effectively to national growth and modernization.

Dr Al Fadhel noted that the strong support and empowerment provided to youth by the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has motivated young people to give their best and encouraged positive competition in presenting ideas, projects and initiatives across various sectors. This, she said, supports sustainable development and aligns with Bahrain’s aspirations for further progress and prosperity.

Her remarks were made while opening a parliamentary simulation session as part of the eighth edition of the “Parliamentary Youth 2025” programme. The programme is held with the support of Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh and organised by the Youth Leadership Association. She conveyed the chairman’s appreciation and continued support for the programme, which brings together a group of young Bahraini men and women.

Dr Al Fadhel stressed that the legislative authority places great importance on youth, viewing them as key partners in shaping the present and the future due to their energy, creativity and innovative ideas. She added that the legislature is keen to maintain dialogue with young people, listen to their views, and involve them in initiatives that strengthen parliamentary awareness and promote national responsibility.

She also praised the Youth Leadership Association for its role in nurturing young talent and developing leadership skills, commending its organisation of the “Parliamentary Youth” programme for the eighth consecutive year. She highlighted the importance of supporting and expanding the initiative to ensure its continuity and positive impact.

Dr Al Fadhel concluded by saying that investing in youth is an investment in the nation’s future, noting that Bahrain’s ongoing development and democratic achievements are built on the efforts of its citizens, especially young people, who continue to demonstrate strong national awareness and readiness to contribute to the kingdom’s progress.
