Over 4,400 Family and Child Protection Reports Recorded in 2025

Official statistics published by Al Amn magazine, issued by the Ministry of Interior, revealed that police directorates across Bahrain’s four governorates received 4,404 reports related to family and child protection in 2025.

The figures highlight the growing role of police directorates in addressing social issues and strengthening the social protection system, alongside their traditional security responsibilities.

According to the data, Muharraq Governorate Police Directorate recorded the highest number of reports with 1,370 cases, followed by the Capital Governorate with 1,069 reports. The Northern Governorate registered 1,059 reports, while the Southern Governorate recorded 906 reports in the field of family and child protection.

The statistics also showed that 3,898 reports were submitted through the “My Government” mobile application during 2025. Of these, 1,811 reports came from the Capital Governorate, 1,087 from the Northern Governorate, 504 from Muharraq, and 496 from the Southern Governorate. This reflects the increasing importance of digital platforms in facilitating communication between the public and security authorities.

In addition, police directorates across the four governorates handled a total of 76,885 general reports in 2025. The Capital Governorate Police Directorate dealt with 31,220 reports, followed by the Northern Governorate with 21,084, the Southern Governorate with 13,433, and the Muharraq Governorate with 11,148 reports.

The figures underline the scale of daily fieldwork carried out by police directorates in serving and protecting the community.
