Bahrain University Renames College of Teachers in Honor of Dr. Mohamed Jaber Al-Ansari
Following the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the University of Bahrain has officially renamed the College of Teachers to the Mohamed Jaber Al-Ansari College of Teachers. This decision honors Dr. Al-Ansari’s pioneering contributions to intellectual and cultural life in Bahrain and the Arab world, as well as his achievements across various fields of knowledge.
On the occasion, Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the University of Bahrain Board of Trustees, expressed pride in the royal directive, noting that the college now carries the name of the distinguished Bahraini thinker. Dr. Al-Ansari began his career as a lecturer at the Higher Institute for Teachers in the 1960s and later became one of the most prominent Arab intellectuals.
Dr. Juma also extended his gratitude to His Royal Highness Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Prime Minister, for laying the foundations of the college as part of Bahrain’s education development initiatives. He highlighted that the college has become a symbol of quality education in preparing and training teachers locally and internationally.
He added that Dr. Al-Ansari’s name will remain immortal in Bahraini memory as a leading figure in thought and culture, serving as a role model for future generations and an inspiration for educators of tomorrow.
