Chaired by His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Ali bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Judicial Council and President of the Court of Cassation, the session highlighted the Institute's pivotal role in advancing Bahrain’s judicial landscape. The high-level meeting was attended by key figures including the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, the Attorney General, and the President of the University of Bahrain, among other senior judicial and legal leaders.

The Council reviewed the 2025 annual report, which underscored a highly active year for legal education in the Kingdom. The report revealed that 128 training programs were successfully implemented, totaling 1,388 training hours. These initiatives benefited approximately 3,903 participants, including judges, members of the Public Prosecution, lawyers, and legal researchers. The curriculum focused on core legal competencies, professional skill-honing, and the emerging intersection between law and modern technology.

He stated that this progress embodies an effective investment in judicial human capital, contributing to the consolidation of the rule of law and enhancing confidence in the judicial system. He particularly praised the high level of engagement from judges and the success of programs designed to prepare the next generation of judicial leaders.

The Institute’s rising reputation was a central theme of the discussion. Attorney General H.E. Furthermore, Minister of Justice H.E. Mr. Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda emphasized that judicial training remains a fundamental pillar of the government’s program, essential for keeping pace with legislative developments and meeting the goals of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.

The Board also discussed several unique initiatives launched over the past year aimed at making the legal system more accessible and specialized. These included specialized legal programs for the deaf, focused workshops on personal data security, and joint initiatives with Youth City to link training with community needs. Additionally, the Council reviewed human resources training conducted in cooperation with the Financial Disclosure Examination Authority.

Closing the session, IJLS President Dr. Khalid Sari Siam and Director Judge Dr. Riyadh Mohammed Sayadi reaffirmed their commitment to data-driven development. The Institute plans to expand its specialized programs and awareness initiatives based on an accurate analysis of training needs, ensuring that Bahrain’s justice sector remains efficient, transparent, and globally competitive.
