A 36-year-old Kuwaiti woman has been sentenced to two years in prison and ordered to be permanently deported from Bahrain following a violent outburst at Bahrain International Airport. The High Criminal Court found her guilty of assaulting a policewoman and a policeman, publicly insulting four security officers, and possessing hashish for personal use. In addition to the jail time, the defendant was ordered to pay a BD1,000 fine for the drug offense.

The incident began when the passenger bypassed secondary security screening and ignored instructions from a female officer, heading instead toward the duty-free area. According to court testimony, the woman claimed she was "above" being searched and shouted obscenities at staff, demanding to be sent back to Kuwait. The situation escalated at the airport police station, where the defendant punched a policewoman in the face as the officer attempted to handcuff her. Judges convicted her of the physical assault and of hurling baseless insults that harmed the reputation of the officers on duty.
