Streets adorned with GCC leaders’ images and flags for today’s summit

As part of the Kingdom’s preparations to host the 46th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit for the Heads of State of the GCC countries today, the main streets and public squares across Bahrain have been adorned with images of the GCC leaders and the flags of the member states. The display reflects Bahrain’s pride in the journey of the GCC and its achievements in promoting Gulf cooperation and integration, as well as the Kingdom’s warm welcome, from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the government, and the people, to the leaders of the GCC countries and visiting dignitaries.

Preparations and decorations included illuminating many of Bahrain’s landmarks and buildings of governmental and private institutions with the flags of the GCC states, alongside placing banners on main roads carrying welcoming messages and highlighting Bahrain’s support for joint Gulf action and its belief in the importance of GCC cooperation as a reflection of shared goals. The displays also featured excerpts from the statements of His Majesty the King, affirming Bahrain’s positions and orientations regarding solidarity and joint Gulf action, including: “Gulf solidarity is our goal, and the unity of our peoples is our foundation,” and “Together towards a bright future.”
