Individual Detained Over Misleading Media Statements
The Public Prosecution has received a report from the Cybercrime Directorate at the General Directorate of Anti‑Corruption, Economic and Electronic Security concerning an individual who made false and offensive statements about certain countries and their leaders. The statements are also said to have encouraged public resistance and accused governments of acting against the interests of their people.
Following the report, the prosecution immediately opened an investigation, reviewed the statements, and arrested the suspect under a prosecution order. The individual was questioned in the presence of their lawyer and has been placed in preventive detention pending further investigation.
