H.E. Shaikh Salman unveils Bahrain’s $17bn leap as the Gulf enters the ‘Age of Intelligence’

Bahrain is stepping into what H.E. Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, called “the age of intelligence” as it unveils $17 billion worth of new projects at the Gateway Gulf Investment Forum.
The projects, to be announced across 61 agreements and 33 signing ceremonies over the twod a y forum t h a t kicked off yesterday, build on the $17 billion in foreign direct investments the Kingdom has attracted since the forum’s launch in 2018.
His Excellency Shaikh Salman said the achievement comes in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to foster an open and competitive economy that provides opportunities for all. On behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the forum was inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister, H.E. Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.
Delivering the opening address on behalf of HRH the Crown Prince, H.E. Shaikh Salman said Gateway Gulf represents far more than a meeting of investors, calling it “a platform to build relationships, explore opportunities, and share ideas that will redefine the future of investment in the GCC.”
Transforming region
His Excellency noted that the Gulf region is witnessing “an extraordinary transformation” as economies diversify and new industries take shape in clean energy, fintech and technology. “The Gulf is emerging not only as a hub of capital, but as a centre of creativity, sustainability and technological excellence,” H.E. said.
The Finance Minister reaffirmed that Bahrain remains at the heart of this transformation.
