Bahrain Participates in Dubai World Autonomous Mobility Congress 2025

His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transport and Telecommunications of the Kingdom of Bahrain, participated in the fourth edition of the Dubai World Autonomous Mobility Congress 2025, organized by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai from 24 to 25 September. The event was attended by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, along with a distinguished group of decision-makers, experts, and international authorities in smart and sustainable transportation.

In his keynote address, H.E. Dr. Sheikh Abdullah emphasized that Bahrain is advancing in adopting pilot projects and innovative initiatives in the field of smart and autonomous transportation, enhancing sustainability and keeping pace with rapid global developments.

He highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to creating an attractive legislative and investment environment that supports innovation and fosters partnerships. Such efforts aim to develop modern, environmentally friendly transport solutions and reinforce Bahrain’s position as a leading regional hub in this vital sector.

H.E. Sheikh Abdullah noted that these initiatives align with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 and the Kingdom’s national commitments to sustainable energy. He stressed that developing smart transportation extends beyond improving infrastructure, encompassing investment in national talent, promoting regional integration, and establishing international partnerships to meet global transformations toward a more sustainable future.

During the ministerial session titled “Regional Integration of Transport”, H.E. Sheikh Abdullah highlighted projects such as the Gulf Railway, King Hamad and Qatar-Bahrain Bridges, and maritime connectivity initiatives across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. These projects, he said, reflect a shift from individual national priorities to a shared regional ambition that fosters collective prosperity and positions the Gulf as a global model for sustainable connectivity.

He further explained that Bahrain’s investments focus on strategic integration points linking airports and seaports as part of the Global Logistics Hub Initiative for Maritime-Aerial Connectivity, generating added value for the GCC economy and enhancing the region’s competitiveness in global trade.

Held biennially, the Dubai World Autonomous Mobility Congress serves as a global platform to showcase the latest innovations and technologies in smart and autonomous transport, exchange international experiences, and develop sustainable solutions that support this vital sector.
