Bahrain Launches Strategic Project to Boost Entrepreneurship and SMEs

The Sunni Endowments Directorate and the Investment and Technology Promotion Office of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Bahrain have announced a groundbreaking strategic partnership to launch the “Entrepreneurship and Establishment of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises” project in the Kingdom.
The initiative marks a significant step toward activating endowment assets to drive national development, strengthen economic empowerment, and enhance food security. It will connect productive and service sectors with entrepreneurship and innovation, creating a transformative model for sustainable development in the region.
Sheikh Dr. Rashid bin Mohamed bin Ftais Al Hajri, Chairman of the Sunni Endowments Council, stressed the importance of the strategic partnership with UNIDO to achieve national development goals and activate the role of endowment resources.
For his part, Dr. Hashim Hussein, Head of UNIDO’s office in Bahrain, expressed his strong support for the initiative, highlighting that the project will serve as a catalyst for inclusive growth and sustainable innovation.
The project will also be showcased at the 6th World Entrepreneurs Investment Forum (WEIF 2026), underlining its global importance and investment potential.
