Interior Ministry Launches Traffic Safety Training for School Guards

The Interior Ministry announced that the General Directorate of Traffic has organized training and refresher courses for Community Police personnel and school guards from both public and private schools. The initiative is part of a wider plan, developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, to ensure a safe traffic environment around schools.

The courses focused on securing school surroundings, improving communication with students and parents, and teaching participants how to manage traffic in front of school gates. They also addressed strategies to reduce traffic violations by drivers during student drop-offs.

Participants were trained on coordinating roles effectively to help students cross roads safely and to organize vehicle parking without disrupting traffic. The programme emphasized the use of designated pick-up and drop-off areas, especially for school buses, and reminded drivers to use allocated parking spaces.

The Directorate called on all parents and drivers to cooperate with Community Police and school guards, follow their guidance, and prioritize student safety. These measures aim to maintain smooth traffic flow in educational areas and prevent accidents.
