Bahrain has laid out a four-track blueprint for aviation growth, setting clear directions in passenger aviation, business aviation, air cargo, and aircraft maintenance services as part of its new National Aviation Strategy.

At a workshop convened to shape the strategy, His Excellency Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, said the initiative will reinforce Bahrain’s role as a regional and international hub, while building on more than 75 years of national aviation legacy and integrated infrastructure.

Leadership Backing

His Excellency emphasised that under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the strategy is anchored in a vision of openness and integration with the global economy to enhance competitiveness.

By defining four distinct pathways, the plan seeks to strengthen the aviation system, boost resilience, and contribute to sustainable economic growth. Passenger aviation, business aviation, cargo operations, and MRO services together represent a comprehensive diversification of the sector.

Whole-Economy Approach

The workshop was attended by H.E. Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, and H.E. Sameer Abdulla Nass, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, highlighting economy-wide alignment behind the s trategy.

The Transportation Minister underlined that the strategy is aligned with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, focusing on sustainable development, innovation, and competitiveness.

With diversification as its driving principle, Bahrain aims to consolidate its position as a resilient, globally connected hub for aviation.
