Authorities have warned the public about a new type of scam involving fake video calls where fraudsters pretend to be police officers.

According to the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security, several complaints have been received about scammers appearing in police uniforms during video calls, falsely claiming that the person has “expired documents” or is involved in legal violations. These scammers then try to pressure individuals into sharing personal details or sensitive bank information.

🔴 Stay Safe: Here’s What You Should Do

Never share personal or financial information over unverified video calls.

Don’t be fooled by uniforms or official-looking appearances — these can be easily faked.

If you feel suspicious, hang up immediately and report the incident to the proper authorities.

📌 Remember: A uniform doesn’t guarantee legitimacy. Always verify the source before responding.
