The United States, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the United Kingdom have initiated working groups under the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA), marking a new stage in trilateral cooperation and signalling operational momentum.
The working groups are tasked with advancing C-SIPA’s three core pillars - defence and security, economy and trade, and science, technology and network security. This reflects a shift from policy framework to joint action.
UK participation in C-SIPA took effect on June 19th, following the agreement’s original signing by the US and Bahrain in September 2023. The expansion highlights the pact’s open structure and growing strategic relevance.
To mark this development, U.S. State Department official Maura Namdar hosted Bahrain’s Ambassador to Washington, H.E. Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, and UK Deputy Head of Mission Lucy Ferguson. Their meeting highlighted growing diplomatic convergence.
