Joint action among Arab states is important to address shared health priorities, particularly given the ongoing global and regional challenges.

This was emphasised by Her Excellency Dr. Jalila bint Al Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, as she participated in the 62nd session of the Council of Arab Health Ministers and its Executive Bureau, held in Geneva alongside Arab health ministers.

She highlighted the need to invest in capacity building, boost local production of medicines and medical supplies, and reduce reliance on imports.

Dr. Jalila also reviewed the regional health initiative launched through the “Bahrain Declaration,” endorsed by Arab leaders during the 33rd Arab Summit hosted by Bahrain in May.

The initiative aims to strengthen healthcare quality and resilience across Arab health systems through partnerships and sustainable strategies.
