Six private centres have been referred to the Public Prosecution after ministry inspectors found they were enrolling children and holding classes without a licence.
The checks, carried out by field teams, confirmed the centres were operating outside the law.
In a statement yesterday, the ministry said any group offering teaching to children must first obtain its formal approval.
That includes meeting safety rules, hiring staff who are fit for the job, and providing a space that’s safe and suitable for learning.
Further inspections are in progress, the ministry added.
