GCC Inmates Week fourth edition opens
The fourth edition of the GCC Inmates Week opened yesterday under the theme “Together to achieve reform”. Interior Minister Undersecretary Major-General Khalid Salim Al Absi inaugurated the event that is being held in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states till December 23.
Ombudsman Nawaf Al Ma’awda, Royal Charity organisation (RCO) Secretary-General and Nasser Centre for Rehabilitation and Vocational Training Board of Trustees’ Vice Chairman Dr. Mustapha Al Sayyed and other officials attended the event.
Maj. Gen Al Absi addressed the event, commending the directives of Minister of Interior Lt General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa to promote the rehabilitation of inmates, guarantee their rights and ensure them services and programmes that comply with international standards.
