Detention of drug peddler renewed

The High Criminal Court has ordered to renew the detention of a Pakistani man accused of selling drugs. The 24-year-old was said to have been peddling hashish for the benefit of another man, who is also standing trial with him in the same case.

The Pakistani man’s unlawful activities were revealed following a police tip-off. He was arrested in a sting operation in Muharraq after he accepted an offer from an undercover agent who asked him for a piece of hashish for BD100. The 24-year-old then told the police that his job was selling the hashish and delivering it for the benefit of another man. He later helped police arrest him by tricking him to come to his home.
