New challenges

“Bahrain enjoys security thanks to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s wisdom, the government’s vigilance and firmness, patriotic popular stances and success in countering terrorism and sidelining it so that the Kingdom remains an oasis of security and stability within the one-family feeling bonding its members,” Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has said.

Receiving Royal Family members and senior state officials at the Gudaibiya Palace yesterday, the Premier asserted that in-depth political analyses of the on-going events revealed the need for more vigilance and caution.

“We are facing two challenges requiring prompt action. The first is related to the global economic situation that poses a serious threat to development, while the second is related to terrorism and the extremist ideology which represent a dangerous threat to people’s life and development,” he explained, affirming that the security and economic dimensions of the current situation required devising more dynamic and effective ways of cooperation to spare the peoples of the region their negative repercussions.

The Prime Minister reviewed with the audience domestic and economic issues, affirming that while the government valued highly the crucial role played by the trade sector, it expected it to do more. 

He stressed that the government’s doors were open for discussing all issues related to the trade sector out of its keenness on removing all obstacles facing it and enabling to it to achieve the expected results.

On culture, the Premier stressed the need to promote Bahrain’s national civilisation and heritage through focusing on heritage sites that enable tourists to learn a lot about the Kingdom’s long and rich history.
