AirAsia X Delays Bahrain Route Amid Regional Conflict
Malaysian low-cost long-haul carrier AirAsia X has postponed the launch of its planned Bahrain service due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
The airline announced that the route, originally scheduled to commence in June, will now be delayed until at least August.
The planned service is set to connect Kuala Lumpur with Bahrain before continuing to London Gatwick Airport, marking a key expansion of the carrier’s international network.
In a statement, AirAsia X said it now expects operations on the route to begin in August or September, subject to prevailing market conditions and developments in the region.
The postponement comes as airlines continue to monitor the security situation in the Middle East, with several carriers adjusting schedules and operations in response to regional instability.
AirAsia X did not provide further details on the impact of the delay on bookings or future flight schedules.
