Women Detained fo Online Misconduct

Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of two women of different Asian nationalities for allegedly using social media platforms to promote activities deemed contrary to public morals in exchange for money.
The General Directorate of Anti-Corruption, Economic and Electronic Security stated that the suspects, aged 41 and 31, were identified and apprehended following detailed investigations and monitoring operations.
Authorities said they tracked down the women as part of ongoing efforts to combat the misuse of social media platforms for illegal or unethical activities. Legal procedures have been initiated against them, and the case has been referred to the Public Prosecution.
The directorate further emphasized the importance of adhering to Bahrain’s laws, values, and societal ethics, warning that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found engaging in activities that violate public decency or exploit digital platforms for unlawful purposes.
