MANAMA: An 11-year-old girl sustained minor injuries following an Iranian drone attack on Bahrain on Thursday, as vehicles caught fire and homes were damaged by falling debris from intercepted drones in Hamad Town and the capital, Manama, according to Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior.
The injured girl was treated at the scene and did not require hospital admission.
The ministry released photos showing firefighters battling blazes in several homes. Additional images depicted streets strewn with debris in the aftermath of the interceptions.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards earlier claimed responsibility for launching attacks targeting US airbases in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan. Bahraini air defense systems successfully intercepted the incoming drones before they could reach their intended targets, though the falling debris caused collateral damage to residential neighborhoods.
Civil Defence teams and the National Ambulance Service deployed rapidly to affected areas and took all necessary measures to contain the fires and assist residents.
