His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday hailed the US-led role to strengthen regional security and serve the cause of peace in the world. HM the King also reiterated Bahrain’s unwavering support to all regional and international efforts to protect security and stability and consolidate peace in the region.

During a meeting with the US Secretary of Defence Ashton Carter at Al Safriya Palace, HM King Hamad commended the military coordination and defence cooperation bonding the two friendly countries, which are allies and partners. 

“Long-standing relations between Bahrain and the United States have always been based on trust, mutual respect and joint coordination in all fields for the sake of the two friendly countries and peoples’ strategic interests,” HM the King remarked. 

King Hamad and Carter also discussed latest regional and international developments and issues of mutual interest for the two countries. 

The US Secretary of Defence hailed his meeting with HM the King, which, he said, reflected strong relations of partnership and solid cooperation between the two friendly countries regarding all issues. Lauding the important role played by the Kingdom of Bahrain, led by HM the King, in regional and global issues, he stressed the Kingdom’s constructive and fruitful cooperation towards the issues of security, stability and peace in the region.
