Bahrain Launches Implementation Phase of Cooperation Framework 2025-2029

Ambassador Shaikh Abdulla bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director-General of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, inaugurated a consultative workshop aimed at launching the implementation phase of Bahrain’s Cooperation Framework for the years 2025-2029. The workshop was organized by the Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Bahrain.

During his opening remarks, Ambassador Shaikh Abdulla emphasized the significance of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He praised the longstanding relationship between Bahrain and the United Nations, noting the recent signing of the Strategic Partnership Agreement in December, which further solidifies their collaboration.

Khaled El Mekwad, the UN Resident Coordinator in Bahrain, spoke about the partnership between Bahrain and the UN, emphasizing that the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) for 2025-2029 is built on a strong foundation of cooperation, shared vision, and mutual commitment to sustainable development.

El Mekwad highlighted the importance of aligning the framework with national priorities, fostering collaboration among stakeholders, and ensuring effective and sustainable financing as key elements for the successful implementation of the cooperation framework.
