Two men get jail for abduction, rape
Two men have been handed down heavy jail terms for kidnapping and raping an Asian woman. They were tried before the High Criminal Court, which has handed down them 10 years behind bars each. The second defendant has received five extra years in jail for robbing the belongings of the woman.
The duo reportedly met the woman in a hotel and offered her a ride back to her home. She accepted it, but they abducted her to a tent in Sakhir. They initially physically attacked her when she refused to disembark from the car, and they later raped her. The second defendant was said to have stolen some of her belongings. Police officers found the victim in an isolated place after the duo had abandoned her.
The defendants had been arrested following police investigations.
