Cali: Hopes of finding survivors decline after a 7.4-magnitude earthquake shook western Colombia on Monday, killing 281 people and leaving 379 missing, according to Colombian authorities. Approximately 4,000 people have been hurt.

Rescue crews in devastated cities like as Cali and Pereira are focusing their search after the critical 72-hour survival window has passed. Crews in numerous sites have changed their focus from hunting for survivors to cleaning rubble, while families continue to await word about missing relatives.

More than 150 aftershocks have hindered rescue efforts, and some rural communities remain shut off from supplies. Authorities say rescue crews will continue to seek despite the increasingly limited possibilities of finding survivors.
