CIA Couldn’t Verify Israeli Warnings of Iran Plots Against Trump

Washington, DC: US intelligence agencies, including the CIA, were unable to independently verify Israeli warnings alleging Iranian assassination plots against Donald Trump, assigning the alerts a "low confidence" rating.

Despite the lack of US corroboration, security officials took extraordinary precautions to safeguard the president.

The warnings, passed directly by Israeli officials to senior White House staff, detailed potential plots involving snipers, knife attacks at public events, and shoulder-launched missiles.

Beginning in June 2025, these intelligence tips escalated significantly prior to the US decision to launch a war on Iran in February.

Even though US analysts viewed the intelligence as unverified and Israeli-derived, the Secret Service executed a covert aircraft swap at Ankara airport in Türkiye. Trump was quietly moved from Air Force One to a military transport plane as a strict precautionary measure.

High-level officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, were briefed on the threats. While Rubio remained aboard the original aircraft, some American officials suspected the alerts were partly intended to shape White House decision-making and influence policy regarding Iran.
