OIC Condemns Escalating Israeli Attacks in Gaza

The General Secretariat of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned what it described as the continuing Israeli crimes and violations in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in the Gaza Strip, citing attacks on health facilities, residential areas, and shelters for displaced people.

In a statement, the OIC said the reported attacks have resulted in significant civilian casualties and constitute a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law.

The organisation also expressed concern over what it called the escalating settlement activities and organised violence by extremist settlers in the occupied West Bank, including Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem), alleging that such acts are being carried out under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.

The General Secretariat urged the international community to take decisive measures to halt the violations, ensure accountability for those responsible, and prevent further escalation.

The OIC also called on Israel, as the occupying power, to fulfil its obligations under the ceasefire agreement and move forward with the second phase of the peace plan in line with UN Security Council Resolution 2803.

According to the statement, this includes reopening all border crossings, ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid, and completing the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.

The organisation further reaffirmed the unity of the Palestinian territories and called for the Government of the State of Palestine to be enabled to carry out its responsibilities across all occupied Palestinian territories, including the Gaza Strip.
