BERLIN: A French court has found German serial killer Martin Ney guilty of the 2004 abduction and murder of 10-year-old Jonathan Coulom. Ney, already serving a life sentence in Germany for killing three children, was handed another life term by the court in Nantes on Thursday.
Jonathan vanished from a seaside school holiday camp in Saint-Brevin-les-Pins, and his bound body was discovered a month later weighed down in a pond. While Ney denied the charges and no DNA linked him to the scene, a breakthrough came when a former cellmate testified that Ney confessed to the crime while in prison.
The verdict brings closure to a 22-year mystery, with the victim's family stating that justice has finally been served for their son.
