Qatar Unveils Packed May Events Line-Up Under ‘Hala Summer’ Campaign
Qatar Calendar has announced an extensive programme of events for May 2026, featuring a mix of family entertainment, major sporting competitions, and cultural exhibitions as part of Visit Qatar’s ongoing Hala Summer campaign.
Running from April to September, the seasonal initiative aims to position Qatar as a leading summer destination, particularly for GCC travellers. A key highlight this year is the Kids Go Free promotion, offering children complimentary access and added benefits across hotels, dining, and entertainment experiences.
The May calendar showcases a diverse range of activities across the country. Among the headline events is the Doha International Book Fair, alongside the Amir Cup Final, which will take place at Khalifa International Stadium. Qatar will also host the 4th GCC Games, bringing together athletes from across the region to compete in multiple disciplines.
Family entertainment remains a major focus, with Fontana Circus continuing performances throughout the month. Theatre, comedy, and musical shows are also scheduled across venues such as Qatar National Convention Centre and Souq Waqif, offering a wide variety of experiences for visitors.
Music lovers can attend live concerts and orchestral performances, including events hosted at Katara Opera House and luxury hotels across the city. Meanwhile, cultural institutions such as the Museum of Islamic Art will organise interactive family activities and educational programmes.
Exhibitions also form a key part of the calendar. In addition to the book fair, major events such as Sneaker Con will take place at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre, alongside specialised fairs and retail showcases. Art exhibitions will continue across venues including Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art and the National Museum of Qatar.
Workshops and educational programmes are also scheduled throughout the month, offering visitors opportunities to engage with art, culture, and creative practices.
Officials said the wide-ranging programme reflects Qatar’s commitment to delivering year-round experiences for residents and visitors, while strengthening its reputation as a family-friendly destination with accessible travel options and a vibrant events calendar.
