Trump Says NATO Allies Decline Role in Iran Operation
President Donald J. Trump has stated that several member states of NATO have expressed reluctance to participate in a U.S.-led military operation targeting Iran in the Middle East.
According to Trump, while many allied nations agree that Iran should not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons, most have opted not to take part in direct military involvement. He criticized the alliance, describing it as “one-sided,” and suggested that the United States has long shouldered a disproportionate burden in defending its allies.
Trump further claimed that U.S. military actions have significantly weakened Iran’s defense capabilities, asserting that key elements of the country’s military infrastructure—including naval, air, and air defense systems—have been severely diminished. He also suggested that senior leadership within Iran’s military structure had been neutralized.
Emphasizing U.S. military strength, Trump stated that the country does not require assistance from NATO allies or other partners such as Japan, Australia, or South Korea. He concluded by reaffirming confidence in the United States’ ability to act independently in global security matters.
