JERUSALEM: Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on Tuesday that Ali Larijani, Iran’s security chief has been killed. A former nuclear negotiator and close ally of the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Larijani was considered a pivotal figure in the nation’s leadership.
Larijani was last seen in Tehran on Friday at Quds Day rallies. Following his appearance, the U.S. government offered a reward of up to $10 million for information on senior Iranian military and intelligence officials. Larijani was among ten key figures linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) included on this list.
Despite the announcement from Israeli officials, Iran has not yet confirmed Larijani's death, leaving his status officially unverified by Tehran.
