Kuwait Appoints First Female Police Pilot

Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior announced on Sunday that First Lieutenant Dana Al-Shaleen has been selected to study aviation sciences in Greece, making her the first female police pilot in the country’s history.

Air Commodore Salem Al-Shehab, Director General of the Police Aviation Department, described the scholarship as a historic milestone for Kuwait’s security and military institutions. He added that Al-Shaleen will undergo rigorous academic and practical flight training in Greece to become a qualified pilot officer.

“This step reflects the State’s commitment to empowering women and increasing their role in various security sectors while keeping up with the latest developments in the field,” Al-Shehab said.
