Manchester City remain confident they can prove their innocence in the Premier League’s long-running financial rules case, chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said, after reports that the club had been found guilty of 114 of 115 alleged breaches.
The club are expected to appeal the ruling by an independent panel. No sanctions have been announced, and the Premier League has declined to comment, saying the process is confidential.
In an open letter to supporters, Al Mubarak said the case was not yet concluded and that City’s position had not changed.
“The Premier League process still has a long way to run, and our confidence and intent in proving the club’s innocence is just as strong as when this began,” he said.
City have consistently denied wrongdoing since the Premier League brought the charges and reiterated a February 2023 statement on Friday, saying it welcomed scrutiny by an independent commission and pointing to the evidence it had provided to the league.
