Air India Flight Returns to Delhi After Engine Fire Warning
An Air India flight from Delhi to Indore was forced to return to the capital shortly after take-off on Saturday due to a fire warning in one of its engines, the airline confirmed.
Flight AI2913 had just departed from Delhi when the cockpit crew received a fire indication for the right engine. Following standard safety procedures, the pilots shut down the engine and returned safely to Delhi.
The aircraft landed without incident and has been grounded for a technical inspection. Passengers were provided seats on another plane to continue their journey to Indore.
In a statement, Air India said, “We regret the inconvenience caused to our guests. The safety of passengers and crew is our top priority.”
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has been notified and will review the incident.
