Audi unveils first look inside all-new Q9 luxury SUV

Audi has revealed the first details and interior images of its upcoming Q9, the brand’s first large full-size SUV designed to deliver a more spacious and premium in-car experience.

Set for its world premiere on July 29, 2026, the new Audi Q9 introduces a luxury-focused cabin with up to seven seats, electrically powered doors, advanced lighting features and a panoramic sunroof with switchable transparency technology.

Gernot Döllner said the Q9 reflects Audi’s evolving vision of “Vorsprung durch Technik,” with greater emphasis on comfort and the in-car experience.

The SUV will be available in both six-seat and seven-seat configurations. The optional six-seat version features two individual electrically adjustable seats in the second row with ventilation functions, while the seven-seat model allows child seats to be fitted across all three second-row seats.

Audi said all doors in the Q9 can be operated electrically for the first time in the brand’s history. The doors can be opened or closed using the key, myAudi app, MMI system, brake pedal or seatbelt buckle, while integrated sensors help detect nearby obstacles and approaching cyclists.

A major highlight of the new SUV is its large panoramic sunroof measuring around 1.5 square metres. The roof features nine individually controllable glass segments that can switch from transparent to opaque at the touch of a button, eliminating the need for a conventional sunblind.

The Q9 also introduces enhanced ambient lighting and a new Bang & Olufsen premium 4D sound system designed to create a more immersive cabin experience. Audi said actuators integrated into the front seats allow passengers to physically feel the music in addition to hearing it.

The interior features a range of premium materials including wool upholstery, Dinamica microfiber, fine Nappa leather and natural wood trims. New colour options such as tamarind brown and stone beige will also be offered.

Audi added that the Q9 will provide generous storage solutions, wireless charging pads, high-powered USB-C ports and a flexible luggage management system with adjustable cargo anchors.

The German automaker is expected to reveal full technical specifications and performance details during the vehicle’s official global debut later this summer.
