Don't Say Its Name: Türkiye's Jinn Horror Arrives in Bahrain

In Türkiye, some words are better left unsaid. Instead of naming the jinn out loud, many people simply call them üç harfliler — "the three-lettered ones," after the three letters of the Turkish word cin. It is that quiet fear that gives one of Türkiye's best-known horror series its name.

The newest chapter, Üç Harfliler: Mühür (The Three-Lettered: The Seal), has been showing in Bahrain cinemas since 1 October.

It begins like a dream. Fatma and her family move into a grand old mansion, ready for a fresh start.

Then an unexpected guest arrives. And after that visit, nothing in the house is ever quite right again.

A door that will not stay shut. A noise with no source. Small things at first. Then an unseen evil begins to creep into the family itself — into their minds, their trust in each other, their will to fight back.

At the heart of it all is a mysterious seal placed on a baby who has not yet been born. Only one person might understand what it means: Müzeyyen, the fortune teller who has become the series' most famous face. But the closer she gets to the truth, the deeper she is pulled into the jinn's trap — part of a plan far older, and far more dangerous, than anyone in the house could imagine.

A warning for the brave: you may want to leave the lights on.
