The long-awaited return of The Mummy franchise is generating fresh excitement as filming gets underway in England. Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz have been spotted on set, reprising their iconic roles as adventurer Rick O'Connell and Egyptologist Evelyn O'Connell for the first time together since 2001's The Mummy Returns.
Recent set photos show Fraser filming a 1957 speed-trials sequence in Suffolk, including scenes involving a vintage rocket car, while Weisz was photographed in period costume near London's British Museum. Plot details remain largely under wraps, but the period setting and elaborate production have sparked interest among long-time fans.
The film is being directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, with John Hannah, Oded Fehr and Kevin J. O'Connor among the returning cast. The untitled sequel is currently scheduled to reach cinemas on October 15, 2027.
The project marks a major reunion for Fraser and Weisz, whose performances helped make the original films popular worldwide.
