Researchers Develop AI Headset to Predict Epileptic Seizures
Researchers at Glasgow Caledonian University have developed a new headset that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to predict sudden epileptic seizures minutes before they occur.
The technology works by monitoring two vital body functions at the same time: brain electrical waves and heart activity. Using AI algorithms trained on thousands of hours of medical data, the system can identify subtle patterns that appear just before a seizure begins.
According to the researchers, this early warning could help people with epilepsy take precautions in advance, improving safety and quality of life.
